    The Essence of Financial Management
    This is a 2-day course designed for finance managers who are
    a) new on the job
    b) just promoted
    c) eager to learn more to enhance their job performance

    This course introduces you to the scope of financial management. The framework of accounting (assumptions, principles and concepts), the fundamental concepts of risk-reward, and financial analysis will be re-visited. Central to financial management is cashflow management and the course will focus on both short-term and long-term cash and financial management . Most finance managers are not fully aware of the financial limits to (sales/revenue) growth, which determine the continued survival (going-concern) of the company. This key concept will be taught, which is a key "take-away" from this course.
    Objective
    At the end of the 2-day course, you will be able to

    This course is designed and recommended for finance managers, supervisors and senior finance executives who are eager to learn more about financial management. It is also suitable for stakeholders of the company who have an interest in the financial management and going-concern of the company.
    Methodology
    This course will be conducted in an environment conducive to learning where quizzes and group work will also be used to reinforce learning. Illustrations and examples from the trainer’s and participants’ experiences will be shared.

    Michael Matthew Lee is a trained teacher, lecturer, C-suite coach, and facilitator, and is himself a life-long learner. Being trained, he is skilful in explaining difficult concepts in a simple and understandable manner. With his more than 40 years of corporate working experience, which include serving as Group CFO of 3 large Main Board public-listed groups, and as CXO (MD/CEO/COO) of various companies across industries, he specialises in Finance and Strategic Marketing, and is exposed to senior executive management practices, issues, and challenges.

    He authored the book “The Essence of Corporate Cashflow Sustainability” launched in June 2022 and has written 15 accounting & finance articles. His 2nd book “Corporate Growth & Cashflow Sustainability” was launched on 6th Jan 2024.
