    Two-day Workshop on Effective Cross-Cultural Communication
    This is a concept for a workshop on effective cross-cultural communication strategies using the Hofstede model. It includes pre-assignment materials, animated case studies videos and a power point presentation on communication basics, international business etiquette (cross-cultural awareness) and the 6 dimensions of the Hofstede model. It emphasizes developing global mindset, understanding your own cultural biases, and adapting communication styles to be effective across cultures. Exercises and role plays are included to practice applying learnings.
    Objective
    “Bridge the global gap by mastering Cross-Cultural Communication”

    Navigating our increasingly diverse, globalized workplace requires new competencies to connect and collaborate effectively across cultures. This 2-day hands-on workshop provides research-backed frameworks and practical skills to become more mindful and adaptable communicators.

    Through interactive activities, self-reflection, roleplays, and sharing best practices, participants will:

    - Learn/refresh basic communication strategies for an effective communication and utilize the strategies in a final presentation
    - Learn a proven model – the 6 cultural dimensions to understand common divides
    - Assess their global mindset skills, personal biases and communication styles

    - Build techniques to communicate clearly across geographic divides to move beyond stereotypes
    - Reflect and Develop action plans for implementing cross-cultural communication strategies and
    - Achieve win-win outcomes

    Outline
    Day 1:

    - Introduction to workshop objectives (see presentation points below)
    - Icebreaker activity
    - Presentation: Communication fundamentals and strategies (verbal, nonverbal, para-verbal, written/netiquette, establishing common ground, identifying barriers, STAR-method strategy, open/closed questions, 4 levels of communication, communicating with power)
    - Presentation on favourite topic using all learnt strategies above
    - Brief intro to cross-cultural awareness in international business for the next day

    Day 2:

    - Developing a Global Mindset (Quiz assessment)
    - Understanding Culture
    - Hofstede model introduction and Presentation on his 6 dimensions of culture
    - Know thy Self - assessment activity to reflect on own communication style and cultural biases
    - Roleplay activity in country-based teams to apply learnings (discover different styles, adapt)
    - Debrief of learnings in large group, small group activity to create adaptation strategies
    - Discussions, conclusion, takeaway (move beyond stereotypes, focus on commonalities, win-win outcomes)

    The key components covered are communication basics, cultural frameworks, self-reflection, and applied practice via roleplays and activities to develop a strong cross-cultural communication competence.

    Juliana Mamoni - “Entrepreneur”, Founder and Director of a famous Lifestyle & Etiquette Institute of Singapore - is a globally recognised Lifestyle Expert, known by many as “The Life Guru” (Expat Living Singapore). She has a BA in Economics with a further degree in Hotel Management (in Berlin), a diploma in Men’s Fashion Design (in Milan) where she was coached by an assistant to the acclaimed late designer Gianni Versace and holds a certificate in Basic Rules of Protocol & Soft Diplomacy (in Brussels) and in Introduction Psychology (Yale) in High-stakes Leadership (University of Michigan) and in NLP Practioner & Life Coaching (accredited).

    Juliana, a genuine multi-lingual (German/English/French/Ga) citizen of the world, spent much of her life travelling the globe. She has lived in Africa, Europe, America, and now Southeast Asia. For over 25 years, she worked in the International Exhibition and Conference Industry, Hotel Industry and the world of Design. She has been in charge of high-powered delegations from the private and public sectors deriving from all corners of the world. With her solid reputation in global circles for living and breathing the principles of international etiquette & protocol, both professionally and in private, Juliana has the foundation and is therefore in an ideal position to advise on international decorum and certify people.

    She holds workshops and instructional meetings for the Governmental, Educational, Corporate and Private Sector, addressing Business, Social, Youth Etiquette and Protocol (Mastering Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence where she scored 96 out of 100 as highly emotionally literate).

    She hosts interview series with global Opinion Leaders and TV personalities such as Anthony Scaramucci (former White House Communication Director), Hannah Ferrier (Netflix BelowDeck), Royal Family of Hohenzollern (oldest former emperor of Germany).
    Juliana’s life experiences, professional exposure, and ongoing studies led to the birth of her company - a famous Lifestyle & Etiquette Institute. Her aim is simple: to help people make healthier, more socially appropriate choices, resulting in happier, more rewarding lives “Look-Act-Feel Good”.

    Juliana is frequently quoted in the media. Articles about her work, especially in Soft Skills and Leadership have appeared both in print and online. She’s a member of the International School of Protocol and Diplomacy Brussels, of Protocol & Diplomacy International-Protocol Officers Ass. (PDI-POA) Washington D.C and member of Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). She acts since 2016 as a Mentor for the students of NUS (National University of Singapore) and is Author of “Help Your Child Shine” – Etiquette and Character Education For Kids Ages Five to Seventeen – available on amazon, and also author of two booklets for Soft Skills at Workplace “Contemporary Business Etiquette”, “10 Power Soft Skills for Success at Work”.
