    Problem Solving skills is one of the essential skills in the workplace that would enhance the effectiveness of an individual in the organisation. The range of problem solving is highly varied. It can be as simple as removing a paper jammed in a photocopier to generating ideas and suggestions that can impact department or company’s key performance areas.

    This workshop will equip participants with knowledge and skills in solving problems systematically. The skills learned will help them to improve their ability to handle and respond to different work situations and difficulties with better ideas and solutions. It will also help them to anticipate and identify problems within their circle of influence. You will learn to be proactive to develop and evaluate alternative solutions to the problem at hand with the aim of solving the problem at its root cause and not just removing the symptoms.
    Objective
    Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
    • Use the PDCA Cycle to carry out a work improvement project in a systematic approach
    • Recognise the difference between symptoms and causes.
    • Apply the various problem-solving and decision- making tools within the framework of the PDCA Cycle for develop innovative ideas/solutions.
    • Select the best creative & innovation solution(s) for the challenges.
    • Evaluate and implement the solution(s)
    • Monitor and review the outcome

    • Overview of the PDCA Cycle – a systematic approach to problem solving
    • How to construct and use problem- solving tools & techniques within the framework of the PDCA.
    • Use the right tools at the right time and occasion.
    • Apply the various problem solving and decision-making tools & techniques within a project that the team is working on.
    • Identify the root cause(s) of the problem.
    • Develop a list of creative and innovative solutions.
    • Evaluate and select the best solution(s).
    • Implement the selected solution(s).
    • Evaluate the outcome.
    • Standardise the solution(s) and develop SOP.
    • Monitor it over time and review.

She was awarded the top trainer/dedication award by NPB in 1992 and Master Trainer by PSB and MOM for the Foreign Workers Orientation Program. Her innovation & quality coaching workshops have empowered more than 200 teams from different organisations achieved awards and recognition on national and international levels. She was invited by Mauritius National Productivity and Competitiveness Council as an International Juror for its yearly National Productivity & Quality Competition.

    Since 1986, Grace has been training and facilitating extensively in various national programmes that include the Critical Enabling Skills Training (CREST), the Go-The-Extra-Mile for Service (GEMS), the Employability Skills System (ESS) and Work Skills Qualification (WSQ) programme. She has designed and delivered customised training programs in Design Thinking, Leadership, Problem Solving & Decision-making, Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, Customer Services, Develop New Products, Leading Team and Adapt to Change.
