    Franklin Roosevelt, the American President once said that it “is a terrible thing to look over your shoulder when you are trying to lead and you find no one there.”

    As leaders, managers and professionals, have you experienced the feeling of having no one behind you, or alongside you, when you are the change champion of your organisation, despite you having communicated or involved the stakeholders in the change journey.

    Why do your employees, and sometimes, even the leadership and management team resist organisational changes? What are the root causes of their resistance, and how can we overcome or mitigate such resistance as change leaders and change champions?

    In an increasingly Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity (VUCA) global landscape, individuals leaders and organisation face more complexity, challenges and changes. Being “future-ready” and “change-ready” is a necessity and a competitive advantage for the organisations. The Organisations have to anticipate and be pro-active, to drive and implement change rather than being reactive towards external circumstances.

    Change can also bring about positive outcomes in terms of continuous improvement, innovation, transformation, success and growth for the individuals and organisations. As the future becomes more complex and diverse, Leaders and Managers must have the change agility and the ability to inspire, lead and manage change effectively especially the “People Side of Change” to achieve organisational and business goals and success.

    • Discover the types of changes and the outcomes of such changes
    • Identify and manage the “Hard” and “Soft” changes in the organisation

    • Identify and manage the catalysts for change
    • Plan and manage the change communication from directive change to participative change

    Move and Change
    • Identify the impacts of these changes and manage the stakeholders
    • Manage the change curve and emotions experienced during change
    • Get buy-in and engagement from the stakeholders and change recipients
    • Design, develop and facilitate focus group and engagement sessions for inputs, involvement and feedback

    Manage Change and Transitions
    • Understand and manage the phases of transition from the past, present and future
    • Apply ways that lead and manage the change process and people towards desired future

    Overcome the barriers and resistance to change
    • Identify the reasons to resist change and overcome such resistance
    • Apply tools to identify forces for change and forces against change

    Design and Implement the Change effectively
    • Using Project Management to plan, lead and execute tactical change
    • Apply change management process in a change initiative undertaken by the participants as real-life application

    • Sustain the change through organisation culture, vision, mission, values, norms and artefacts
    • Sustain the change through organisation structure, system and processes
    • Sustain the change through performance measures, rewards and recognition

    Jasmine Liew's Profile
    Ms Jasmine Liew has been in Human Resource for more than 15 years, specializing in Organisation Development, Change Management, Employee Engagement and Action Learning. Her span of regional training experience encompasses the Singapore Civil Service, MNCs and the Private Sector. Jasmine graduated with a Masters in Education & HR Development, The George Washington University, a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, Singapore Institute of Management and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics & Political Science), The National University of Singapore.

    Jasmine has been a Change Management Practitioner in several industries driving Organisation culture and development, merger and acquisition and forming of a new organisation. She had been involved in the planning and implementation of diverse change management interventions arising from organisation restructuring, merger, change of reporting lines, job redesign, advent of new products and services and inculcating a new organisation culture. She has also worked with multiple stakeholders who are involved and affected by the change by managing the heart ware and people side of change management beyond the systems, structure and process of change management.

    Jasmine is an Adjunct Faculty of Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Adjunct Trainer in The Singapore Civil Service College and the first person in Asia as the Global Premiere Partner for “The Five Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace”.

    Jasmine has designed and conducted training for more than 3,000 regional participants including C-Suite and Department Heads in Leadership, Management and Soft Skills Training. She is sought after for her expertise in HR, organisation culture, leadership, change management, employee engagement and appreciation at work.
