    Microsoft Excel 2010 and 2013 offers a wide range of built-in functions to help you track your finances, investments, sales and many more. This course will equip participants with knowledge and skills they need for working with Excel formulas and functions. At the end of the course, participants will be able to use Excel functions more quickly, effectively and wisely.This workshop will be conducted using Microsoft Excel 2010 software.

    Participants should bring a laptop with Microsoft Excel 2010 or Microsoft Excel 2013 software.
    Objective
    Participants will learn how to use relative, absolute and mixed references in formulas, and how to perform calculations using Math, Statistical, Date & Time, Text, Lookup & Reference, Database and Logical functions. Participants will be taught how to correct formula errors using Formula Auditing Tools such as Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents, Evaluate Formula and Watch Window. Participants will also learn how to hide various common error messages using IFERROR function.
    Outline
    1. Using Relative, Absolute and Mixed References in Excel Formulas and Functions.
    2. Using Text functions to copy characters from a text string and change text cases ->LEFT, RIGHT, MID, TRIM, FIND, TEXT, UPPER, LOWER, PROPER
    3. Using Date and Time functions to display, to covert dates and time and perform date calculations.-> TODAY, NOW, DAY, MONTH, YEAR, WEEKDAY, WEEKNUM, NETWORKDAY, WORKDAY, DATEDIF, EDATE, EOMONTH
    4. Using Math and Statistical functions -> ROUND, ROUNDDOWN, ROUNDUP, CEILING, FLOOR, RANK, LARGE, SMALL, COUNTIFS, SUMIFS, AVERAGEIFS
    5. Consolidating data from multiple worksheets using 3D-Reference functions.
    6. Using Database functions to perform data analysis -> DSUM, DMIN, DMAX, DCOUNTA, DAVERAGE
    7. Using Logical functions to determine which calculation to execute and hide formula errors ->  IF, OR, AND, IFERROR
    8. Using Lookup & Reference functions to extract data from Excel table -> VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, COLUMN, INDEX, MATCH, TRANSPOSE
    9. Understanding Formula Auditing Tools -> using Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents to identify cells with missing dependents; using Error Checking to check for common errors; using Evaluate Formula to debug a formula error; using Watch Window to monitor the value of certain cells.
    Who should attend
    • This intermediate level course is for frequent Excel users who wish to learn how to increase their productivity in daily work with effective Excel functions.
    • Participants must have some intermediate level Excel knowledge and a few years working experience using Excel.
