    If you want to improve your career prospects and move up the ladder then you must be effective at getting your message across. The first step to improving your communication skills is to make sure that you communicate accurately. This means getting your grammar right - crucial to presenting a professional image.

    The English language is a minefield of rules and exceptions to those rules! Being more aware and conscious of the implications of grammatical inaccuracy is a starting point for improvement. This workshop will help you identify your strengths and weaknesses in using grammar accurately and provide strategies to help you correct those common errors.
    Objective
    The objectives of the course are that the participants will:
    • understand the aspects of correct grammar usage
    • enhance their knowledge of the nuances of grammar rules
    • identify and correct common grammatical errors

    • The importance of correct grammar
    • A review of basic grammar rules - identifying common errors
    • The rules of subject-verb agreement
    • Preposition usage
    • Countable and uncountable nouns
    • Using the past tenses correctly
    • Sentence Structure - Active v Passive
    • Statements or commands?
    • Using punctuation

    Those who want to ensure their English language use is error free or who want to review common grammar errors. It’s also useful for those who use English as a second language.

    Emma Jarman-Jones's Profile
    Emma Jarman-Jones specialises in developing and enhancing workplace communication skills. This work includes writing, speaking, interpersonal and management skills training. She has over 20 years experience training in Singapore, as well as regionally in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

    Emma has worked as an external consultant and trainer with both private and public sectors, designing, customising and delivering programs, and coaching individuals. She believes in the potential of every person and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of training that will benefit the individual, as well as the organisation. She has worked with companies such as StarHub, SingTel, BASF South East Asia, BASF Vietnam and Malaysia, DBS Bank, Nokia, Carlton Hotel and The British Club.
